Funny where home is, isn't it? I've been thinking "home sweet home" ever since arriving back in town from the ACFW conference, but you know what's funny? I remember thinking when I walked into the conference and was immediately surrounded by my dear writer friends, the smell of hope and anticipation lingering in the air, the sweet fragrence of God's love and grace hovering like a hazy cloud over the entire hotel, editors and agents and fellow writers all darting about...I thought then "I'm home".
Other times I'd have similar thoughts of "home"...
While hugging my husband.
When walking into a bookstore and breathing deeply of leather and history and memories and crisp pages.
While snuggling my baby.
While laughing with a friend over an inside joke.
I think "home" is where the heart is, yes, but I also think home is where the heart wants to be. For Christians, heaven is our ultimate home, and I think one of God's blessings on this earth is to give those snippets of the eternal in our every day. In the embrace of a loved one or in the joy of seeing a friend for the first time in months or years.
Today, I am home. But this past weekend, I was also home, even while many miles away.
What a blessing.
(ACFW conference pics and recap to come!) =)

Amen! I love this thought: home is where the heart wants to be.
I enjoyed being "home" with you at the conference. :) Especially when we were eating those ridiculously fabulous cupcakes...
Welcome Home, and so true, with God at our side, any place can feel like home!
Wonderful meeting you, Betsy! I wish you all the best success!
