My thoughts:

I LOVED this novel!

Been saying that a lot lately but hey, I've been reading some really great suspense!! :) I'm a big fan of Kathy's and I love that she's next door in the state of Texas! She's a sweet woman with an instinct for intrigue, and her books never fail to twist and turn and wow the reader. Kathy writes some of the most relatable, "feel like you're there" suspense stories that I've ever read.

FALSE PRETENSES is the first in a new series, and I loved how one of the characters picked up from her last series set in Sophie Trace. When I realized the Vanessa is this series was the same from the series before, I emailed Kathy on facebook all giddy like a little girl. :) I love when characters overlap!

The setting in this novel also brings a fresh element to the world of suspense. This charming fictional town is like a mini New Orleans, with all the same Cajun flavor and history. As a Southern girl, I'm all in! :)
