SNOW!

It's snowing - in northwest Louisiana!

This happens maybe once every 2-3 years, and its always a quick flurry sometime in Jan. or February, gone almost as quickly as it comes. We bundle up, pulling dusty mittens and hats and scarves from our rarely used "winter drawer", and by the time we bundle up and make it outside, its over.

But not today. Last night temps dropped into the low 20's, and an icy fog hovered over the city. We woke up this morning to freezing temps, white-covered everything, and SNOW. It snowed almost the whole way to work. At first I was in my car, grinning, thinking "Yay, Snow!".

Then as my car began sliding down the highway exit ramp, I quickly changed my mind. "No, Snow!"

We north-Louisiana-ians are so fickle...

(don't worry, I only slid a few feet with no further incident.) =)

Snow as a novelty.

Hard to comprenhend here on the frozen tundra. :)

Enjoy it while it lasts. Take some pictures of the baby in her first snow.

We love snow over here. Until April that is, then we're ready for spring. Lots of snowmobiling happening around here this winter. We've had a consistent foot to two feet since before Christmas. Great for winter sports.

Glad you could experience it, Betsy Ann. Just go slow with the driving, it really does need that.

That's SO not fair!!!! We haven't seen so much as a single snowflake from either cold snap that has produced snow. *goes off to pout. Again*
